BRUSSELS/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – Former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was recovering early Saturday after being rushed to the hospital for sustaining an injury during an official trip to Luxembourg, according to several sources familiar with the situation.
Pelosi reportedly sustained injuries to her hip as she tripped and fell while at an event.
Pelosi, 84, is “currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals,” spokesperson Ian Krager said in a statement.
The Democrat, who still represents California in the U.S. House of Representatives, traveled with a bipartisan congressional delegation to Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, which occurred during World War Two.
The Battle was one of the last major German offensive campaigns intended to stop Allied use of the Belgian port of Antwerp and to split the Allied lines.
Yet instead, Adolf Hitler’s forces eventually lost the clash, and the war would end with the Allied victory over Berlin.

Not being able to attend all ceremonies and remembering the fallen came as a disappointment for Pelosi.
However, spokesperson Ian Krager stressed that Pelosi “looks forward to returning home to the U.S. soon” and continues to work from the hospital.
The San Francisco congresswoman was a prominent figure in American politics during a career with seven presidential administrations.
She first served as House speaker from 2007 to 2011, an influential post second in line to the presidency after the vice-president.
Years later, Pelosi regained the job in 2019 after her party took back control of the chamber.
Pelosi stepped down from the position in 2023 but continued to serve in the House. Last month, the seasoned politician was elected to another two-year term.
