TEHRAN/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Air defense systems were activated across the Middle East after Iran said it had launched missiles at U.S. bases ,including in Qatar, as videos filmed by residents in Qatar showed flashes and explosions.
Qatar hosts Al Udeid Air Base, described as the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) forward headquarters, with about 10,000 U.S. troops stationed there, among other U.S. assets.
Iran on Monday night fired 10 ballistic missiles at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and at least one ballistic missile at an American base in Iraq, several sources said.
Footage reviewed by Worthy News appeared to show anti missile interceptors fired by American forces and explosions were heard over Doha, Qatar’s capital, late Monday.
Sirens were also noticed in Iraq where the air defense system was activated, U.S. and Israeli sources said.
Additionally sirens wailed at the American Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait, sources said, while air defense systems were also activated in Bahrain after missile launches carried out by Iran toward American assets.

PREVIOUS WARNING

It was unclear how many Qataris had been killed or injured or if Tehran’s weaponry was precise enough to only endanger American forces.

The U.S. embassy in Qatar emailed American citizens in the Gulf country on Monday recommending that “they shelter in place until further notice,” triggering a slew of messages from various Doha-based institutions to employees and students
The embassy’s advice came as Iran repeated earlier threats to retaliate against the United States after strikes on its nuclear sites.
The US embassy message noted that the recommendation was “out of an abundance of caution” and offered no further information.
Commenting on the message, Qatari foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said in a statement that the security situation in the country “remained stable,” adding that the embassy’s advisory did not suggest any specific threat.
