ICE Arrested More Than 2,150 Known or Suspected Terrorists, DHS Says

Background

Federal officials report that more than 2,000 were also removed from the United States.

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief

(Worthy News) – The Department of Homeland Security says Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested more than 2,150 known or suspected terrorists in the United States between Jan. 20, 2025, and Sept. 9, 2026.

According to DHS, ICE also removed 2,015 people in that category during the same period. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the enforcement effort reflects the administration’s commitment to preventing terrorist threats on American soil.

The designation requires some context. ICE defines a “known terrorist” as someone arrested, charged, convicted, or officially identified in connection with terrorism. A “suspected terrorist” is someone reasonably suspected of engaging in—or supporting—terrorism-related activity. It does not necessarily mean every person counted was convicted of a terrorism offense.
