TEHRAN/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has effectively warned Israel and its Jewish population that they will be destroyed.
His comments came after Tehran vowed a “punishing” reprisal to Israel’s October 26 airstrikes, which Jerusalem claimed took out the Islamic Republic’s air defenses and missile production capabilities. Israel struck Iran after it fired a barrage of rockets toward the Jewish nation.
“The world will certainly see the day when the Zionists are defeated in a resounding defeat by the resistance,” Khamenei wrote on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter. The word “Zionists” is often used by him and other Iranian leaders to describe Jews and the State of Israel.
His comments came amid indications of an imminent Iranian response to Israel’s recent retaliatory strike, Israeli sources said.
Iran’s so-called “axis of resistance” of proxies in the Middle East includes Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and Syrian and Iraqi terror groups.
They all have joined Iran in attacks against Israeli targets after the Hamas massacre on October 7 in Israel last year killed some 1,200 people, sparking the war in Gaza.
Military experts say a new Tehran strike against Israel could make it more difficult for the U.S. to pressure Israel’s government not to hit nuclear and other energy sites inside Iran.
Khamenei was already moved to a more secure location, Worthy News learned, after Israel killed numerous leaders of Iran-backed Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
