U.S. Greenlights Fast-Track Delivery of $4 Billion in Military Aid to Israel

Background

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that he has signed a declaration to expedite the delivery of roughly $4 billion in military aid to Israel, as concerns rise that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas may soon collapse and intense conflict could resume.

“The decision to reverse the Biden Administration’s partial arms embargo, which wrongly withheld a number of weapons and ammunition from Israel, is yet another sign that Israel has no greater ally in the White House than President Trump,” Rubio stated in a press statement.

This statement from Rubio follows Friday’s announcement by the State Department, which revealed the approval of a potential $3 billion sale to Israel, including bombs, bulldozers, and guidance kits, according to the department.

Congress was notified of the prospective weapons sales on an emergency basis on Friday afternoon, bypassing the usual review process by the House Foreign Affairs and Senate Foreign Relations committees.

The weapons package includes 35,529 general-purpose bomb bodies for 2,000-pound bombs and 4,000 bunker-busting bombs from General Dynamics. Deliveries are set for 2026, though some weapons may be sourced from U.S. stock for immediate delivery.

A second weapons package, valued at $675 million, includes 5,000 1,000-pound bombs and guidance kits and is expected to be delivered by 2028.

The military aid also includes $295 million in Caterpillar D9 bulldozers.

Hours after the first phase of the ceasefire was set to expire, Israel announced on Sunday it would adopt a proposal by Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan and Passover.

Both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating the ceasefire, casting doubt on the second phase of the deal, which was meant to include additional hostages and prisoner releases and steps toward a permanent end to the war.
