Trump’s Top MAGA Advisers Gather to Plot Republican Midterm Strategy

Background

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Worthy News) – President Donald Trump’s senior political advisers gathered in Washington on Tuesday to review polling, messaging, and campaign strategy ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, according to an exclusive report by Axios.

The closed-door meeting at the Four Seasons hotel brought together leading figures from Trump’s political operation, the White House, the Republican National Committee, and his previous presidential campaign.

Trump was not expected to attend, but White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, longtime pollster Tony Fabrizio, political operations chief James Blair, former campaign co-manager Chris LaCivita, and RNC Chairman Joe Gruters were among those scheduled to participate. Cabinet officials were also expected, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio absent while traveling on official business in Manila.

Fabrizio was expected to present polling data outlining the political environment Republicans face as they work to retain control of Congress.

Republicans Prepare Massive Campaign War Chest

Trump’s super PAC and the Republican National Committee reportedly have approximately $530 million available, giving Republicans substantial resources to support candidates, advertising, voter outreach, and campaign operations.

Axios reported that the total does not include hundreds of millions of additional dollars believed to be held by Securing American Greatness, a political nonprofit aligned with Trump’s agenda.

The Washington gathering was the second in what Axios described as a developing series of strategy meetings intended to coordinate Republican candidates, party leadership, and Trump’s political organization.

Republicans acknowledge that maintaining control of the House could prove difficult, particularly as voters express concerns about the economy, rising gasoline prices, and the continuing conflict with Iran.

However, Trump’s advisers believe widespread opposition to the Democratic Party’s progressive agenda could help Republicans overcome the traditional midterm disadvantage faced by the party controlling the White House.

Republicans are also pursuing mid-decade congressional redistricting efforts that could potentially provide the GOP with as many as 10 additional House seats.

“The Trump tax cuts have saved people real money and the president is keeping Americans safe,” one Trump political operative involved in the meeting told Axios.

“We have the manpower, the message and the money to make that clear.”
